By completing the first pub takeover in Queensland during the COVID-19 pandemic Lewis land Group now owns the Mono Komo and The Belvedere at Woody Point.
Though purchase price has not been disclosed, Lewis Land Group says it plans to complete the upgrade by mid-2021.
The Mon Komo Hotel, which opened on Marine Pde in 2011, has bars and dining areas while also catering for conferences and weddings.
“We are aiming to replicate the success and community support we have achieved for The Belvedere at Mon Komo,” says Chris Allison, Queensland Regional Manager Leisure for Lewis Land Group.
“By taking over the Mon Komo Hotel we are strengthening our commitment to the Redcliffe community, driving economic growth and providing employment and social opportunities for locals.
“We can see the potential growth the Redcliffe Peninsula offers.
“If there is one thing the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us, it’s that locals are dining within their own areas now more than ever before.
“It has highlighted how important pub culture is, especially during a time of stress. The local pub has been and will return to become one of the community’s key social meeting points.”
The acquisition will make the Lewis Land Group one of the largest employers in the area, employing up to 200 people at its two venues.
