Station closing for two days

Trains will not stop at Dakabin station this weekend as part of the multi-million dollar upgrade by the Queensland Rail.

Night and weekend work on the station’s platforms will get underway at 11.30pm on Friday and run through to 5am on Monday December 7.

During that time rail services on the Caboolture and Sunshine Coast lines will go through Dakabin but will not stop.

Free shuttle

However, a free bus shuttle service will operate every 30 minutes from Narangba Rd taking customers to and from Petrie station where they can get connecting services north and south.

Buses will leave Dakabin at 21 and 51 minutes past the hour and leave Petrie at 4.31am, 5.30am, 6.38am and the 8 and 38 minutes past the hour.

Travellers are asked to allow an extra 30 minutes for their journey during this time.

New car park

The station upgrade will include a new pedestrian footbridge and lift, a raised section of platform and multi-storey parking replacing the current Thomson Rd car park.

Queensland Rail is working with the Department of Transport and Main Roads on the upgrade of the precinct including a new bus interchange.

Construction work started in April and is due to be completed mid-2021. As part of the State Government’s $357 million program to improve accessibility at stations.
