School's four-some achievement

School's four-some program

Redcliffe State High School’s Program of Excellence was just 50cms short of an unprecedented clean sweep of qualifiers for South East Queensland’s top school’s rugby league competitions.

The Opens (Years 11-12) went down 12-10 to Mabel Park on Wednesday, coming within half a metre of the try line in the last play of the match!

Redcliffe were under pressure for much of the game, but still managed to take the game down to the final second in their bid to reach the Langer Trophy.

Big win

The Year 10 side had an easier passage to the Walters Cup beating St Mary’s College, Toowoomba 36-4 in a dominating performance.

“A fantastic effort,” said Scott Murray, the RSHS Program of Excellence Director, “this group will continue to improve and develop under Mr Wilkinson.

“We are confident they will do well in the next level of competition.”

Incredibly proud

They followed the Under 7s who qualified for the Broncos Old Boys Trophy, Year 8s who made the Renouf Shield and Year 9s who are through to the Hancock Cup.

“Getting four teams into the top level is quite an achievement,” said Murray, “something we are incredibly proud of.

“This is the result of the hard work of our players, coaches and supportive parents who sacrifice who made a lot of sacrifices for this to happen.”
