The Salvation Army Australia is looking for help from people in the Moreton Bay Region to support its work helping those in need.
Pine Rivers Corps Lieutenant Danielle Starr says The Salvos’ annual Red Shield Appeal helps fund a variety of local programs.
“From the generous support during last year’s Red Shield Appeal, we were able to continue our support of Men’s Shed, Community Breakfast, and help those in the Caboolture and surrounding areas with our food pantry,” Danielle says.
“We’re so grateful to the Caboolture and Pine Rivers communities, which have always rallied together and supported the Red Shield Appeal.
“This year is no different – we need the help of community members more than ever as we continue to support those who have felt the devastating impacts of the past couple of years.”
Along with The Salvation Army’s focus on Family and Domestic Violence, money raised locally this year will also help the Men’s Connect program, Craft group, Coffee and Chat, and Sunday Breakfast to continue running.
The Salvos need people to volunteer or support the Red Shield Appeal in any way they can during May, with the annual doorknock weekend held on 28–29 May, 2022.
People can become ‘Digital Doorknockers’ by creating an online fundraising page to support the cause.
