Putting spring in their step

Putting spring in their step

Students at the Australian Trade Training College in Scarborough will be literally Stepping in Spring tomorrow (September 1).

Twenty-three students from Years 11 and 12 are taking part in the North Brisbane college’s first hair and beauty fashion show, which starts at 7pm.

Younger students have use a ‘classic design’ to produce ‘something of lasting worth or with a timeless quality’, according to the brief.

Year 12 students have to tell a story with their Avant-Garde design likely to produce dramatic, innovative styles.

Putting on a show

“We want to show the talent of the Grade 11 and 12 students with designs expressing their creative abilities,” trainer Angela Martin says.

Students will begin work on their hair and fashion entries earlier in the day. Some will take two hours to perfect both before the fashion show.

There will be top three places prizes for each category and an overall winner on the evening.

Spectators are welcome. Entry is $5, though there is a limit, due to COVID restrictions, of 120 at the college at 294 Scarborough Rd.

Tickets can also be reserved online: https://www.trybooking.com/BLEYF
