North Lakes Leopards women’s team made an encouraging start to the new rugby union season, despite going down 20-5 to Caloundra in a friendly warm-up game.
It was the team’s first fixture of the 2021 season - and for some players their first match.
Coach Rocher Lourens said there were some errors early on, but the team "never gave up and just got better throughout the game".
All the hard work was rewarded with a try by Ange Tanoai-Setefano.
Leopards have ‘plenty of positives’ before their first game of the regular season on Saturday against Redlands, says Lourens.
