Plea to help find stolen puppy

A four-month-old puppy due to go home with new owners has been stolen from the RSPCA’s Dakabin shelter.

RSPCA spokeswoman Emma Lagoon said Cashew, a female Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross, was taken about 2am on Saturday, March 19.

"Our whole team is absolutely devastated, and so too are the adopters that were due to take Cashew home,” Emma says.

Cashew is brown in colour and has a white patch on her chest.

Police hunt for thief

The RSPCA is currently working with the Queensland Police on the safe return of the puppy.

Police attended the shelter on Saturday and collected evidence in relation to the theft.

CCTV footage shows the offender wearing a clown mask and using an angle grinder to open the cage.

If you have any information of the whereabouts of Cashew the puppy, phone 1300 ANIMAL (1300 264 625) 24 hours a day, or notify police on 1800 333 000 with reference QP2200170989.
