A new supermarket, specialty stores and alfresco dining precinct could soon call Joyner home, with plans for a development at the corner of Youngs Crossing and Gordon’s Crossing roads.
Developers the Lancini Group have lodged an application with Moreton Bay Regional Council, in the hope of delivering the $29 million project by 2023.
Executive chairman Laurence Lancini says servicing the current and future needs of the Joyner community is at the forefront of the proposed Joyner Central development.
“We own and operate all of our shopping centre destinations across Queensland,” Laurence says.
“We are a big part of those communities where our centres are located and the development of Joyner Central will be no different.
“We are currently seeking feedback to understand the local values, characteristics and community needs of the Joyner area so we can integrate that into Joyner Central.
“The local community is our future community too.”
Joyner Central will include 275 free car parks, alfresco dining and medical, health and wellbeing services, as well as a full-line supermarket with drive-through and click and collect services.
As part of the community consultation, Lancini Property Group wants Joyner residents to contribute to some of the centre’s features and potential tenants by filling out a Community Ideas Form.
Lancini Property Group development manager Tomas Lancini says it is important for residents to be part of the proposed development.
“We want Joyner Central to reflect the Joyner area, which is why we’ve asked the local community to share with us what types of specialty stores they’d want to see and certain features they might like in the communal spaces of the centre,” Tomas says.
“We are investing considerably to create a vibrant community space for customers - a welcoming shopping experience where locals can meet, socialise and conveniently access their daily needs.”
