Loads of fun for little ones at The Hills

Children and their families will be in their element next month when The Hills Under 5s Playtime in the Park returns.

The popular morning of fun includes performances from Rhyme Rhythm & Sign, Flutter the Fairy and Itty Bitty Stars, as well as market stalls, food and drinks.

Acting Mayor Jodie Shipway says the free event at the award-winning Hills District All Abilities Playground will spark joy and imaginations.

She says the venue’s perfect for families of all abilities, with inclusive equipment so everyone can join the fun.

“We are working to make Moreton Bay the most accessible community in South-East Queensland,” Cr Shipway says.

“This event is all about ensuring everyone who lives in and visits Moreton Bay can enjoy active, healthy lifestyles.

“The playground itself boasts 16 different types of inclusive equipment across five zones including accessible swings, musical instruments, slides and a sensory garden.”

Cr Shipway says children will be able to get creative and explore their capabilities through a variety of free play-based workshops and activities.

“The Activity Zone will ignite all senses through nature play, messy play, musical pay, artistic play, physical play, and more,” she says.

Exciting performances

Division 10 Councillor Matt Constance says the jam-packed stage program will fill the park with music and colour.

“Dance and sing along to performances from Rhyme Rhythm & Sign, Flutter the Fairy, Super Steph, Cheeky Monkey Club, Workshop Wonders, and Itty Bitty Stars,” Cr Constance says.

“For parents and carers, there will be plenty of food and beverage options and market stalls, so you can grab a coffee and a bite, or enjoy a picnic on the grass.”

There will also be a Quiet Zone, giving children and their families a place to take a break from the hustle and bustle.

“This is one of the most highly-anticipated events for families in The Hills District, and I look forward to seeing everyone come out and enjoy the day,” Cr Constance says.

The Hills Under 5s Playtime in the Park runs from 8.30am to 12.30pm on Friday, May 20 at Leslie Patrick Park, 135 Olearia St West, Arana Hills.

The free event is presented by Moreton Bay Regional Council.
