Line-up changes to Open Air Comedy Night

COVID-19 border restrictions may have played havoc with the line-up for Caboolture Festival’s Open Air Comedy Night, but they won’t stop the laughs.

Standup comedians Steph Tisdell, Ting Lim and Matt Ford are ready to make you laugh until you cry.

A number of comedians due to perform at the free event at Caboolture Town Square on August 22 from 4-8pm are unable to travel to Queensland due to COVID-19 restrictions including Akmal Saleh, Aaron Pratt and Ellen Briggs.

But never fear, the Queensland-based comedians have jumped at the chance to perform at the event which will include live music, food trucks and pop-up bar and be hosted by Lindsay Webb.

Steph Tisdell will headline the night and is sure to draw a crowd. Her award-winning shows sell out wherever she performs and she is fast becoming a presence on mainstream television, having appeared on Ten’s Stand Up for Christchurch Benefit, Just for Laughs Australia on the Comedy Channel, Hughesy We Have A Problem, and on multiple occasions as both an interviewee and presenter on The Project.

Her famous 2019 spot on ABC TV’s Oxfam Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala went viral and as a result, the following year she was invited to host the Gala, one of the festival’s highest status gigs.

Tisdell’s debut solo show, Identity Steft, won the weekly award for best emerging talent at the 2018 Adelaide Fringe and was nominated for the illustrious Best Newcomer Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Her second show, The Pyramid, took out the 2019 Melbourne International Comedy Festival John Pinder Award.

Caboolture Festival’s Open Air Comedy Night is proudly delivered by Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT) and supported by Sit Down Comedy Club and strategic partner Moreton Bay Regional Council.
