Have your say on Scarborough Boat Harbour

The State Government wants to hear from Redcliffe peninsula locals, visitors and boaties about what they want to see for the future of the Scarborough Boat Harbour.

State Member for Redcliffe Yvette D’Ath says community consultation is now open to inform master planning of the harbour.

“Scarborough Boat Harbour is a vibrant part of the Redcliffe peninsula, and I know just how popular it is for families, boaties and locals alike,” Ms D’Ath says.

“This consultation will give locals the chance to guide future planning decisions.

“Community consultation plays a key role in planning projects, and we want to understand what locals want the future of Scarborough Boat Harbour to look like.

“This is one of the Redcliffe’s favourite hubs, offering boat ramps, berthing facilities, parks, playgrounds, walking trails and some of the best restaurants on the peninsula.”

Ms D’Ath says the ideas put forward will help identify future opportunities, including improved community access.

“The community can help inform the way the harbour continues to support tourism, hospitality, fishing and marine industries,” she says.

“We want to make sure the Scarborough Boat Harbour continues to be a great asset for the community now and into the future.”

How to get involved

“Feedback can be provided online or by attending one of four information sessions planned across local venues,” Ms D’Ath says.

Information sessions will be held at the following locations:

• Dolphins Central – Saturday, September 11 from 9am-3pm

• Redcliffe Library – Tuesday, September 14 from 9am-noon

• Redcliffe Markets – Sunday, September 19 from 8am-2pm

• Jamieson Park – Saturday, September 25 from 8-11am

More information sessions are planned for October and details will be published on the Transport and Main Roads website.

Consultation is open until Sunday, October 24 2021.
