Animals at Dakabin’s RSPCA shelter waiting for their forever homes have been gifted plenty of treats and toys thanks to the generosity of one Moreton Bay gym.
Staff and members from Crossfit 505 in Burpengary held a trivia night on January 29, where everyone who attended brought donations for the animals.
Crossfit 505 Owner Evan Morris said his gym regularly hosted events to give back to the community.
“We have raised money for lots of different groups in our local community, like veterans’ groups, but this time my gym manager Kelly Henricksen came up with the idea to donate to the RSPCA,” Mr Morris said.
“It was a really great night, with 50-60 people there.
“Everyone brought in items like food, blankets, leashes, toys, collars and tick treatments.
“I want to thank our members for their support, because giving back to the community is important to us.”
RSPCA Spokesperson Emma Lagoon said the donation was greatly appreciated and would make a big difference to the animals in care.
Dakabin RSPCA is located at Goodwin Rd, Dakabin.
They are open five days a week, but are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
They also have an active Facebook page, where they update the community about pets that are looking for their forever homes, as well as the 'happy tails' from the ones who already have.
