There was plenty of singing and dancing at Moreton Daily Stadium on Sunday night as close to 6000 people gathered to enjoy the Redcliffe Christmas Carols event.

The line up of stellar carol entertainers, including the headline act Bassline Band, had the crowds on their feet as they performed hit after hit of traditional carols and kid-friendly holiday songs.

The night also featured the debut of the adorable Christmas Llamas, giant snow globes, roving entertainment and a smorgasbord of tasty food trucks.

No carols event would be complete without a visit from Santa, who journeyed from his workshop in the North Pole to sunny Moreton Bay for the night.

With 2021 being another tough year for families due to COVID-19, MBRIT Chairman Shane Newcombe says the Redcliffe Carols were a huge success, with people from around the Moreton Bay region and Brisbane areas joining in the festivities.

“After the unfortunate cancellation of Caboolture and North Lakes Carols due to weather, it was so important for this event to shine,” Mr Newcombe says.

“The events industry and the local community have had a rough two years, so it was magical to see everyone together celebrating, singing, and just enjoying the freedom we are slowly gaining back.”

The night ended on a high, with a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the sky around the stadium.

Redcliffe Christmas Carols was sponsored by the Vodafone Warriors, Sesame Lane, and Ray White Woody Point, as well as media partners Channel 9 and B105.
