Final countdown for J2J teams

Final countdown for J2J teams

There are just three days left for teams of 10 or more to register for the Jetty 2 Jetty (J2J) Fun Run – and receive a 10 per cent discount.

Friday August 14 is the deadline to get your team entry in for one of Queensland’s most scenic fun runs, being held on October 4 and go into the draw for a $1000 Rebel gift card.

Teams of 21 and 23 entrants have been received for J2J which runs from 5.30-10am, but Sesame Lane has set its sights higher and is aiming to break its staff team record.

Making history

“Last year we recorded the biggest team in the history of the event with 80 people ranging from ages one to 67 years old,” Kerri Smith, Head of Sesame Lane says.

“Fifty of our team last year were Sesame Lane staff and the remainder was made up of staff children, families and friends of Sesame Lane. We would absolutely love to break our staff record of 50 people on the team this year.

“Healthy children need healthy role models and when children see educators, teachers, staff and their own family practising what they preach children are more likely to want to practice those healthy behaviours themselves.”

Six of the best

This will be Sesame Lane's sixth year of participating as a team in the Jetty 2 Jetty Fun Run, however staff have been taking part long before the official team entry.

After the run, the Sesame Lane team is gathering for a barbecue social at the park to wind down.

There are four race distances to choose from in the 2020 Jetty 2 Jetty at Clontarf’s Pelican Park: Half Marathon (21.2km), 10km, Stockland Newport 5km or Sesame Lane 3km.

Entry prices have been reduced as, due to the impact of COVID-19 it has not been possible to order J2J singlets, caps or medallions.

A full COVID-Safe plan is being prepared for registered participants.
