Concert a trip down memory lane

Moreton Bay Symphony Orchestra’s next concert will take the audience on a journey through the ages of American music.

Featuring classics from some of America’s most famous composers, The American Dream brings a full orchestra to the stage.

The orchestra, conducted by MBSO Musical Director Bronwyn Gibbs, will be joined by the MBSO Youth Symphony and MBSO Junior Strings.

Orchestra president and viola player Eve Brown says MBSO’s second concert of the year promises to be a fantastic afternoon the whole family will enjoy.

Travel through the ages

“Come along and travel through the ages of American music with us,” Eve says.

“We will be playing works based on American folk songs through to Dvorak’s American Suite for Orchestra.”

Ryan Nunn, who has been a cellist with the orchestra for the past five years, says he is looking forward to being part of the event.

“I think the audience will feel as if they have been transported right into the heart of the USA when they hear our music,” Ryan says.
