Deception Bay people affected by flooding and heavy rain in February and March can attend a forum organised by the Inspector-General of Emergency Management (IGEM) in July.
IGEM Alistair Dawson says the forum, from 5.30pm on July 5, will discuss the South East Queensland (SEQ) Rainfall and Flooding Event that happened between February 22 and March 7.
Community members are invited to attend and take part in the forum, one of several being held as part of the IGEM review.
“These forums are an important opportunity for community members to share their experiences in the lead up to, and in response to the event,” Mr Dawson says.
“The forums provide an opportunity for the community to contribute suggestions for any improvements and equally to share what worked well.”
Community forums will be undertaken in line with the review’s terms of reference which are available for download here.
“We are keen to hear what the community has to say, and I encourage people to attend these public forums,” Mr Dawson says.
