Call to keep conserving power

Call to keep conserving power

Residents have answered an urgent call to conserve power at Mango Hill, Griffin, Kallangur, Kippa-Ring, Murrumba Downs, North Lakes and Rothwell, avoiding any load-shedding overnight.

Energex spokesman Justin Coomber is asking them to do the same today, including into tonight’s peak from 4-8pm as crews carry out urgent repairs to the Mango Hill Sub Station needed after recent severe storms.

Justin says 12 large generators have been deployed across the area, which has also helped avoid the need for load shedding (turning the power off to customers).

“The residents in these suburbs did the right thing and were really good in helping reduce the load on the network,” he says.

“We’re hoping we can get through today and get these major repairs done.”

Justin says he hopes the repairs will be completed by tomorrow and said Energex would keep customers informed.
