Fireworks, medieval combat, woodchopping, showbags and carnival rides will be among the fun of the fair when the Pine Rivers Show Society hosts a three-day event this weekend.
Replacing the annual show, which was cut short due to COVID-19 restrictions in August, the Pine Rivers Family Fun Fair promises a weekend of excitement for the whole family.
Smaller than the show, the fair will have loads of familiar favourites including food stalls, a licenced bar, a rodeo, free petting zoo and visits from Bluey and Minnie Mouse.
On Saturday and Sunday, a woodchopping event will be held every 12 minutes.
There will also be an amazing Lego display thanks to BrisBricks.
The display, spanning 25 tables, has been built by the BrisBricks train group with the theme ‘Around the world in 80 days’.
It takes visitors through Rio, Amsterdam and Venice with a giant fairground with a working carousel and Ferris wheel, as well as Star Wars and Disney characters and a custom-made helicopter display.
Fireworks will light up the sky at 8pm on Friday and 9pm on Saturday after the rodeo.
The Family Fun Fair is on Friday, noon-9pm; Saturday, 9am-10pm and Sunday 9am-4pm.
Entry is $5 per person, with primary school children and younger free. Parking is available at Eddie Hyland Park for $5.
Pine Rivers Showgrounds are at 757 Gympie Rd, Lawnton.
The main entry is off Gympie Rd, while the pool gate entry is off Lawnton Pocket Rd through the Lawnton Aquatic Centre carpark and the back gate is accessible from Lawnton Pocket Rd at the bottom of the show’s carpark (no right turn).
